KATHY SAYLOR (creator) is the Chief Creative Officer of Chanticleer Productions, LLP. For nearly 10 years she served as Director of Education and Outreach and an Artistic Associate at Round House Theatre in suburban Washington, DC, where A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL celebrated more than 100 performances in seven consecutive seasons. A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS CAROL has been produced throughout the country and as far away as Singapore.
Her other acclaimed twist on the Dickens story, A SHAKESPEARE CHRISTMAS CAROL, saw its premiere in a production at Baltimore Shakespeare Festival which she also directed. Ms. Saylor has directed throughout the Washington-Baltimore region where directing credits include Round House Theatre, Washington Stage Guild, Rep Stage, and the “Best of Baltimore” award-winning production of A DICKENS OF CAROL at Baltimore Shakespeare Festival, which she directed for two consecutive seasons.
Outside of the theatre, she is a passionate advocate for the ethical and humane treatment of animals. She is the co-founder of Stop the Insanity Westport, a group which challenged one of the country’s most egregious cases of animal cruelty.
A recipient of the Lockheed Martin Arts and Humanities Education Award for Excellence, she lives in Chester, Maryland with her two rescue dogs.
